Y13 Degree Scholarships in Māori Visual Arts and Viticulture & Wine Science

APPLICATIONS CLOSE: 1st OCTOBER 2019.

The Eastern Institute of Technology offers unique degrees in these areas:

  • The Bachelor of Māori Visual Arts delivered in Gisborne by Toihoukura
  • The Bachelor of Viticulture & Wine Science delivered in Napier

Y13 students who enrol in these degrees are eligible to apply for a Y13 Degree Scholarship, saving them up to $12,000 on the first two years of the degree in conjunction with the government’s fees free initiative.  Please see year13.eit.ac.nz for more information.

Students from Toihoukura go on to employment as practising artists, teachers or work within the wider creative industries.  There are currently Tukutuku panels hanging in the UN Headquarters in New York that came all the way from Toihoukura at EIT Tairawhiti in Gisborne.

EIT Viticulture & Wine Science graduates hold many of the senior winemaker and viticulturist positions in the New Zealand wine industry.  EIT graduates have won the New Zealand Young Viticulturist and Young Winemaker of the Year award for several years.
